Hi!
Hello there all, I'm a 28 year old skincare fanatic and, following fervoured research over the past couple of months have finally gone mental and spent £800 on a phillips Reaura... Seeing as my purchase has been heavily informed by the results published on other blogs out here on the interweb -and probably in the secret hope of unveiling some miraculous press stopping results- I thought it'd make sense to share my progress on here. During my latent 'pre-purchase' phase, what I most wanted to see were the results and experiences of others (the more dramatic the more exciting!) so perhaps there are others who might also find this helpful. Will be adding pictures.
The Purchase
I ordered my reaura over the telephone today (Fri 20th April 2012) from SpaceNK and am expecting to take delivery around weds- thurs of the coming week. They offered an even faster express delivery at £2 more but I felt I could cope till midweek. The lady I spoke to was very helpful and informative and did the expected pre-purchase consultation that can also be found on the website. She also answered questions which included
- can the reaura be used on areas of congestion?
The lady told me that this should be fine and it was only active acne and open skin that should be avoided, and in fact the laser will help with blackheads, whiteheads, etc. Sweet!
-should I stop Retin-A use during treatment?
In a word, yes. Any active exfoliators, cosmetic procedures or medicated treatment (including glycolics containing products, fillers, any peels, etc- there are no doubt more and I would recommend checking) should be stopped at least 2 weeks prior to treatment. I used retin a yesterday so that puts me at t- 13 days.
... There is a hotline for any questions so if anything else crops up I can give them a call and they will provider any info I need. Very civilised!
My skin
Ok, so well... I'm only 28 but since I've spent most of my 20s partying like a sailor I actually have pretty bad skin... Just an aside PLEASE STOP SMOKING PEOPLE, PLEASE!! So, anyway, as well as acne scars (plenty of icepick and some boxcar scars) as well as rough texture, fine lines and the beginnings of omg wrinkles... yes it's all quite embarrassing... have always been into products but clocked more so recently that really if I wasn't sorting my lifestyle I really might as well not bother. So having calmed down a lot recently, quit smoking and started mainlining carrot and spinach smoothies I'm quite dismayed to note in my naivety that my skin is not miraculously returning to the sparkly smooth glow of its former glory. Hmm fancy! So I am taking my first forays into serious skin treatments having done my research and discovered that aside from the big daddy Retin A, topical treatments and creams will generally do very little to nothing in the way of repairing damage, smoothing texture, improving lines etc. Here is a plastic surgeon admitting that even microdermabrasion, whilst giving a 'nice glow', will do sweet FA for lines... I'm almost certain the other guy at the end asks- what's the point then? before the video cuts out:

So as you can imagine I have high hopes for the Reaura! Probably not very sensible but honestly have seen some great results posted online- has anyone else seen the Glamplusforty one?- and would be really stoked if I could achieve something similar. Probably wholly unrealistic, but hey I'd be lying if I said otherwise. Looking fwd to updating...
